Ringo

I woke up to my phone ringing (vibrating) this morning, it was my dad. He asked what I was doing today, and I told him. I thought maybe he was calling like he does when my mom is out of town. A few minutes later my mom called. She said my kitty Ringo was dead, something bit him (most likely a dog).

I got Ringo on my 16th birthday. He was a tiny, fluffy, fuzz ball little kitty. He was abandoned, so he though me and my mom were his mommies. He was so small he couldn't jump up on the bed. He learned to give hugs and kisses. I would carry a string and he would follow me for hours. When I went out of town, he would get mad at me and hold a grudge. He had a little snake that he would carry around by the neck. Later on he found a big stuffed Hobbes and would make biscuits on it.

He was special. He drooled when he was really, really happy. He rang the doorbell when he wanted to come in. He preferred fresh running water from the sink and would sit in the bathroom every morning while I got ready. He didn't care for meat, so my dad gave him fresh vegetables to eat, usually in the morning. When he was younger he would sit on the sit of the bathtub while I took a shower. Once he got in the bubble bath. When we got Einstein, they became buddies and would always snuggle together. He liked to sit on top of my mom's car.

Ringo's hair would get matted so we would have him shaved. They would leave his head and the end of his tail so that he looked like a little lion. When Alden was a baby it would make him giggle. This winter he needed to wear a sweater, but he kept hiding them from my mom. He got so big and fat and he was moody. He liked to climb trees. One morning my dad asked me to come see something from the 2nd story landing. There was Ringo, eye level, in the trees.

I just got back from burying him with my dad and I don't much feel likegoing to the football game. We buried him next to Einstein, since theyalways used to be together when they were both alive. I buried him with his snake. That's one of the only times I've ever seen my Dad cry.

I'm going to miss him.
